A few months ago the new October golf tournament for the LPGA in Kapalua—the Kapalua LPGA Classic—was announced, as you can read in this press release and here on KapaluaNews.com. And now the date is upon us. In just one week, on Oct 16, this sparkling new full-field golf tournament will begin. The buzz in Kapalua Resort is running rampant in anticipation of seeing the best female golfers in the world compete on the beautiful fairways and greens of Kapalua’s The Bay Course, designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane.

This is the first year for this LPGA tour stop, and it offers an impressive $1.5 million purse. That and the opportunity to play golf in Maui, Hawaii, are attracting all the best golfers and fans.
