Tennis is one of the prime attractions at Kapalua Resort, which is home to the award-winning Kapalua Tennis Garden, a facility that provides ten plexipave courts paired in tiered clusters as well as a staff of Peter Burwash International professional tennis instructors. The Kapalua Tennis Garden hosts many tennis tournaments, tennis camps, and tennis events throughout the year.

On July 11-14, 2008, Kapalua hosted the Kapalua Junior Open Tennis Tournament. This tournament was open to all junior tennis players – boys and girls ages 10-18, both singles and doubles matches and teams. It was an excellent opportunity for young tennis players to practice their tennis skills, gain tournament experience, and pit themselves against their tennis peers.

The tournament came on the heels of various junior tennis camps that Kapalua held throughout June and July 2008. From June 16 – July 4, Kapalua held 3 separate junior camps for varying tennis skills levels: Junior Beginner Camp was June 16-20; Junior Intermediate Camp was June 23-27; and Junior Advanced Camp was from June 30 – July 4. The Beginner and Intermediate Camps invited juniors ages 10-14, while the Advanced Camp was for juniors ages 12-16. These camps were extraordinary opportunities for juniors to learn and improve their tennis skills from the Peter Burwash trained tennis instructor professionals at the Kapalua Tennis Garden.
